The largest church situated near the town centre of Retford, Grove Street Church is the heart of the circuit. The circuit office is here, accessed via the Union Street entrance. Also based here are the Circuit Youth Worker and two Schools Workers.
The church has a membership of approx 100 and we offer a variety of midweek meetings including a Retirement Group, CYP Youth Club held on Wednesday's, Ladies meeting, Thursday Lunches, Choir Group, Mens Breakfast (Friday's) Craft Group, Little Tadpoles (Friday's), Circuit Coffee mornings held on Saturday's, Midweek Communion (Monthly) and a Sunday JAM (Jesus and Me) group.
Community connections have been made with local Social Services who use the facilities two days a week. Currently the congregation, led by an active church council, is considering ways of furthering its mission to the community by radically revising the internal space of both the church and the attached community buildings.
Presently the building consists of a large entrance, doubling as a meeting area and coffee lounge leading through to the main worship area with a seating capacity of approximately 700. A wide range of musical styles are achieved in our worship by the magnificent organ situated on the upper balcony and the music group. We have up to date IT equipment installed which includes a video projection system and audio equipment. Grove Street are currently trying to cater for and thus is aiming to offer services which cover a broad spectrum of styles from the more reflective Celtic tradition through to vibrant all age worship experiences.
