About Retford Methodist Circuit
Gathered around the market town of Retford, the Circuit is composed of five Churches ranging from small to medium size congregations and buildings. Some of the buildings are in the traditional style whilst others have been refurbished internally. The Circuit is widely involved with the community. Many of the churches have on going Mothers and Toddler groups, Young people activities, Luncheon Clubs, Discussion Groups etc in addition to pastoral care. The premises are extensively used by special interest groups.
Two of our congregations are in ecumenical partnerships with the local Church of England and the Circuit as a whole is sharing with the Retford Deanery in developing ministry. At Treswell and at East Markham the local Churches of England have extended a formal welcome and occasional Methodist services are held here.
The Circuit is largely a rural area, but is crossed by the fast east coast railway, also the Manchester to Lincoln train line. Running through the circuit is the Chesterfield Canal, the River idle and the A1 road. With this access the circuit is a convenient place to visit and you are assured of a warm welcome in any of our churches.There are two churches in Retford itself and the others are in the surrounding villages.

There are two Ministers
REVEREND MARK CANTRILL works half in the Methodist Circuit and the other half in the Clays area of the Anglican Deanery.
REVEREND GEORGE BRIGHAM has recently joined the team as Superintendent Minister. He brings a wealth of experience in both industry and full time ministry.
DEACON JULIE DOWER works mainly with young families and young people at Grove Street and Hallcroft Churches.

Circuit Office
